I was up early this morning. I was out with my dog, early-ish! It was a lovely, sunny, cool morning with wonderful light. I needed to clear my head; it’s amazing how mood swings can happen from one day to the next.
I feel fine—not brilliant, but okay. I am annoyed at myself for not doing what I had planned to do yesterday and feel guilty about it. I was meant to be collating some images for the website, and while I did manage some importing and exporting, I didn’t achieve my daily goal. I am disappointed in myself. It is not the end of the world, of course, but regardless, I should have done more.
So, the camera was out again this morning. Putting my eye behind a lens is always a good thing. It soothes the soul and calms my inner workings. There were some lovely images to be had, but I am not sure yet if I have done justice to the light and feel of the early morning sun. I’ll worry about that later; besides, it is a secondary thought at the moment. Has it calmed me down? A little, maybe, but my anxiety levels are definitely heightened compared to yesterday.
It is all part of the process. Everybody’s daily grind to work is my mental journey at the start of the day—a tedious, monotonous necessity just to keep life moving along. We all hate it, but hey! Let us all move on and look forward to what might be. Get the mundane over and done with, and enjoy what is to come as much as we are able.
My dog is watching me now, currently incumbent upon the stone pavers outside the back door, suitably tired after a good trot through the ripening fields of wheat and a riverside walk. With camera in hand, he is an absolute joy to take out. Off the lead, he doesn’t venture far when I am taking a photograph and is always checking up on me. We are a good duo out and about. On the lead, it is not so easy for either of us. We manage most of the time, but we have to give each other time to do our own thing, which isn’t always possible. I am lucky, though, as I live where space is abundant, and we both have the freedom and choice to do our thing without much hindrance or worry about others, be that dog or human. Others, maybe, are not so lucky, but I would like to think that we all have somewhere to go when we need a little space.
I ramble on when really I should be doing what I didn’t do yesterday. So, I shall leave it at that and wish us all a good day.
